Our audio recording studio was designed and built to provide broadcast quality recordings for all uses - whether voiceovers, audiobooks or ADR for post-processed film projects.

Voice Recording

Our sound-recording booth was purpose-built to ensure the highest quality recording environment as possible.

Sound Proofing

Constructed using a 'room within a room' design, double soundproof doors give a clue as to the effectiveness of our recording suite that provides an extremely low noise-floor, ensuring all recordings are free of any external noises.

Acoustic Treatment

Internally, the recording area is acoustically treated to ensure a completely 'dry' recording. With deep bass-trapping in all edges and corners and broadband absorbing panels covering the entire room including walls and ceiling, this minimises flutter echo or standing waves that would otherwise distort any recording. Just walking into the room you will immediately notice the difference!

Recording facility

There is space for up to 3 people to comfortably record side-by-side using our industry-standard microphones on height-adjustable stands, with headphones. The booth also offers a large monitor screen to display scripts that can be controlled directly either by the recording talent or remotely from the control room.

A video intercom & talkback system between the booth & control room ensures easy direction & communication between Director/engineer and the recording talent.

Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR)

The studio offers the facility to record dialogue in a very high quality environment for use in post-processed editing.

The recording environment is designed to be extremely 'dry' and quiet, to provide the perfect base recording with minimal reverberation or background noise so that the correct amount of reverb and ambient noise can be added in post to perfectly match the acoustic environment recorded on film (eg. outdoors or in a bathroom).

The recording booth has space for up to 3 people with a large-screen monitor to display scripts, subtitled video etc. all controlled either by the talent themselves or remotely in the control room by the Director or Engineer.

Audio Podcasts

Although we offer great facilities to record video podcasts, sometimes people prefer to record a simple audio podcast without appearing on camera. This means they can take advantage of our superior audio recording facilities to produce the highest quality material using industry-standard equipment.

Podcasters can record in the perfect, acoustic environment of the voice booth or in extreme comfort in a large, wing-backed armchair elsewhere. Comfortable seating is available for groups of up to several people if a larger recorded conversation is required. All using the latest, industry-standard equipment.

Audiobooks

We have produced over 50 audiobooks in recent years - including some 45-hour epics! Whatever genre, from thriller to SciFi/Fantasy, from non-fiction reference to children's books, we've recorded them all.

If you wish to record an audiobook, get in touch and take advantage of our extensive experience in producing broadcast-quality audio that you will find on Audible, Amazon and most other commercial platforms. We are highly experienced in meeting ACX technical requirements that are essential if you want your book to be sold on Amazon/Audible or, indeed, most other platforms.

We can provide a full range of services; from simple recording facility where we can hand you your raw recordings if you prefer to do your own editing/mastering. Or we can take care of the editing/mastering to meet the required standards and deliver you a completed set of audio files ready packaged for you to simply upload to the commercial platform of your choice.

Also, if preferred we can even narrate the audiobook for you using our own experienced male or female audiobook narrating talent (subject to availability).

Editing, Mixing & Mastering

Audio recordings need to be edited, mixed & mastered before they can be released for normal use. Our extensive audio suite offers the ability to take raw recordings and treat them until they are finalised to the necessary standards.

We use the latest audio software including Adobe Audition, Cubase and Ableton Live, coupled with treatment software like iZotope and plugins from leading producers (Fabfilter, SSL amongst many others) to ensure recordings are finished to a high standard.

The mixing/mastering suite is acoustically treated and our signal chain uses some of the highest quality equipment available including AD/DA converters from Cranborne Audio and mixed/mastered through Neumann KH310 monitors.

You can hire our editing suite yourself or use the services of our resident engineer.

What if I make a mistake when recording?

All audio will be delivered via a simple link to our cloud storage from where you'll be able to download your completed audio files. We can also, if preferred, transfer the files to your storage device in the studio after your session if preferred.

In terms of technical format, that is entirely up to you - we can deliver WAV, MP3 or most other common formats as required, up to 96kHz sample rates. If you're not sure - just ask us and we can advise the most appropriate formats depending upon your expected use.

No problem at all. If you make a mistake at any time, we can just edit that out and you can re-do it as many times as you like. The finished product will sound like you did it all in one, single, mistake-free take!

Likewise if you decide afterwards you'd like a section, a sentence or any part of your recording removing, or moving around, that's all easily achieved in the edit. You just tell us how you want it to be, and we can do the necessary magic.

Yes, we can provide all the editing, mixing & mastering services including adding royalty-free music, if required, from a huge library of music of all genres and styles.

Yes. We can either just hand over your raw recordings if you prefer to do the editing yourself or we can take care of all that for you - just ask.
